Volunteers:  The Heart of EYH

Expanding Your Horizons Thurston County RELIES on a crew of amazing volunteers. From welcoming students to the conference to teaching each and every workshop to helping us spread the word and connect with potential partners and supporters... Because of this, we are always on the lookout for energetic volunteers who are ready to lend a hand.

There are 3 main ways that you can volunteer to support EYH: Day-Of Volunteers, Workshop Leaders, or Behind the Scenes Helpers supporting our Organizing Committee in a wide array of ways.

Day-Of Volunteers
Our easiest and most popular volunteer category is helping on the day of the conference, hosted at South Puget Sound Community College's main campus. Before the conference, volunteers set up signs, assemble packets, organize, assist mentors in unloading their supplies, and run errands around campus. During the conference, volunteers assist with participant check in, give directions, help workshop leaders with emerging needs, and run more errands. High school and college students can volunteer for EYH and may receive community service credit with their school. Workshop Leaders
Workshop Leaders are one of the most essential parts of EYH. By sharing about your chosen career, you will open up possibilities for students!  Learn more here.

Behind the Scenes Helpers
A committee oversee the planning and execution of the conference, and can use your help in an array of ways! Are you interested in helping us find the funds to make this event happen? Do you love data? Are you great at procuding donations? Would you like to build your skills in excel? Do you love presenting and want to talk with local service organizations about our event? There are many areas that we would welcome help in. Email us with 'Behind the Scenes Helper' in the subject line and tell us what you're interested in or ask questions!
