Special Information for Educators

Help us help your students!  Every year we encourage female-identified & gender non-conforming individuals in 6th, 7th & 8th grades to join us for a half-day conference to learn about Science-, Technology-, Engineering-, Arts- and Math-based professions that are occupied by real female-identified & gender non-conforming professionals. The purpose of the conference is to take topics that can often become boring and stifling and turn them into something fun AND educational. We hope that our conference will help those who are female-identified & gender non-conforming to see the advantages of being familiar with math and science and inspire them to excel in the classroom.
Students attend three sessions of their choice and then participate in a Mainstage (keynote) presentation. There are a great variety of professions represented. Check out our class list for the full roster. We give them a bag with miscellaneous goodies like pens, paper, highlighters with a map of campus and their session assignments. After the Mainstage, we typically give away donated prizes, such as posters, gift certificates, and other cool items.
The area where our committee needs the most assistance is spreading the word about this wonderful opportunity to the students by sharing our brochure and website with female-identified & gender non-conforming students and their parents. We pass out brochures  to schools, libraries and other public places. With the support of everyone in a school district we could reach many more female-identified & gender non-conforming students.
