Welcome to the game. Here are all the important details.
On the following pages you will be shown some videos created by scientists who are excited to share their fields and expertise with you. Before you start:
- Check your registration to see which track you have been assigned. Your game sheet will also indicate on which track you should start.
- Game play will be from 9am-12pm today only.
- Make sure you have a game sheet and a pen/pencil handy (we recommend a pencil in case you make an error). If you don't have one, you can download one and print it. If you don't have a printer, you can just copy the game piece on a blank piece of paper by making the same number of letter boxes for each video and circling the ones you'll need for the jumble (the unshaded squares on the game piece).
- Watch the following videos carefully. Each mentor will ask a question, either in their video or under their video, that you will need to answer in order to move onto the next video.
- Once you have finished watching a video and think you have the answer to the question, enter it in the clue box provided on the screen below the video. If your answer is correct, you will move automatically to the next video. If your answer is incorrect, you will be provided with hints to help you get to the right answer. Be sure to also enter the correct answer on your game sheet on the line matching that video.
- Continue this process for all videos (note: Track 1 and Track 2 have four videos, Tracks 3 and Track 4 have five).
- Once you have watched all videos in a Track and have all the answer lines on your game piece filled out, you'll advance to the Jumble page. Unscramble the letters in the unshaded (white) squares on your game piece to answer the riddle. Once you think you have the answer, enter it in the answer box. If your answer is correct, you will move automatically to the page for your entry into the raffle. If your answer is incorrect, you will be provided with hints to help you get to the right answer.
- After you finish the jumble, make sure to enter your name and the e-mail you used for registration on the form provided. This is your official entry for raffle prizes.
OTHER IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE
- If you need help at any point, you can chat directly with us by clicking on the chat icon (Need Help?) on the right side of the screen.
- This game does not keep track of your progress during the video portion of the track. DO NOT HIT THE BACK BUTTON ON YOUR BROWSER WHILE YOU ARE WATCHING THE VIDEOS. Doing so will mean that you need to restart the track from the beginning.
- The "Go" button for submitting your answer will only be clickable after you have completed watching a video in its entirety.
- If you have time and interest, try a different Track when you are finished. While there is only one entry per track in the raffle, doing other tracks can get you additional entries into the raffle.
